Brooklyn, MI (June 15, 2014) – All of the TriStar Motorsports drivers battled through the “Irish Hills” of Michigan International Speedway and brought home three top-25 finishes. Below are the results for the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet 250:
Mike Bliss, No. 19 SupportMilitary.org Camry Finished 18th
Mike Bliss qualified 19th for the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet 250 Saturday morning. Once the green flag dropped Saturday afternoon, Bliss quickly began working his way toward the front of the field. When an early caution flag waved on lap three Bliss, as well as most of the field, decided not to come to pit road. After getting caught in race traffic after the restart on lap five, Bliss was scored in the 22nd position. During the first round of green flag pit stops, Bliss brought his No. 19 SupportMilitary.org Camry to pit road for four tires and fuel. During the next few laps, Bliss reported that he needed the No. 19 team to make adjustments to his car, so on the next pit stop the team made a track bar adjustment. With 19 laps to go, Bliss was scored in the 19th position and would advance one position to finish the race 18th.
Jeff Green, No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry Finished 23rd
Jeff Green was back behind the wheel of the No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. After qualifying 27th for the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet 250, Green was eager to strap into his Camry for 250 miles of racing. By lap three, Green had advanced five positions to 22nd and once green flag pit stops were underway Green pitted for four tires, fuel, a track bar adjustment and an air pressure adjustment. With 81 laps to go, Green reported a vibration and was scored in 27th. The No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® team continued to make adjustments to make the car to help the vibration and with six laps to go, the No. 14 Camry was scored in 23rd. Green brought home a 23rd place finish for the No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry team.
Blake Koch, No. 44 Compassion Racing Camry Finished 24th
Blake Koch and the No. 44 Compassion Racing Camry qualified 22nd for Saturday’s Nationwide Series race. Koch was ready to turn 125 laps in the “Irish Hills” of Michigan Saturday afternoon. On lap 14, Koch came on the radio reporting that his Compassion Racing Camry was free on entry and he was scored in 25th. When Koch made his green flag pit stop, he pitted for four tires and Sunoco Racing fuel. The caution flag waved at lap 53 for debris, Koch brought his Camry to pit road to top off with fuel. Koch was running 23rd with 36 laps to go and brought his car to pit road for fuel only with 12 laps to go. Blake Koch finished the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet 250 in the 24th position.
Next weekend: The NASCAR Nationwide Series heads to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Drivers will be required to turn both left and right at the four-mile, 14-turn road course circuit.
