After a stellar career that was full of many trips to victory lane, Jim Beleskey has officially announced his retirement from competition.
The ‘Polish Prince’ sights the reason being due to back issues and ultimately as a result of the wreck that happened at the beginning of this month.
“My health is my priority right now and leaving racing is the sensible thing to do,” Beleskey said. “I’ll miss the fans, fellow drivers and thank you to everybody who gave me 20 years of fantastic racing. Thanks to all my sponsors past and present who made it possible, my dedicated crew and my family for supporting me from day one. Lastly, a huge thank you to the fans!”
To celebrate his success throughout the years, Beleskey will partake in tomorrow night’s Fan Appreciation festivities, signing autographs during the on-track session. He also has announced that there will be some “real cool” giveaways so make sure you are in attendance at Barrie Speedway to see the prince and perhaps win a giveaway.
Fan Appreciation festivities will take place during intermission on Saturday night. Racing is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. EST with St. Onge Recreation Pure Stocks, Triple Sick Thunder Cars and Wahta Springs Limited Late Models.
