BROOKLYN, Mich. (July 23, 2014) – The Budweiser Acceleration Concert is a great way to continue the festivities after the Careers for Veterans 200 on Saturday, Aug. 16. The fans spoke after the 2013 concert and Michigan International Speedway listened.
Back by popular demand country music artists Keith Anderson and Tim Dugger will perform at the Budweiser Acceleration Concert on Saturday, Aug. 16 after the truck race.
Anderson will headline the always popular and free post-race concert in Lot 10. The Budweiser Acceleration Concert will begin shortly after the Careers for Veterans 200 presented by The Cooper Standard Foundation and Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation.
Diehard NASCAR fan Tim Dugger will open the concert before Anderson takes the stage.
The concert is free for anyone with a Careers for Veterans 200 race ticket, an infield wristband or an APEX wristband.
“The concert is just one of the fun things we do for guests – for free!” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “It’s become nearly as important to the weekend as the NASCAR races themselves. We received such overwhelming popular response from our fans after the Budweiser Acceleration Concert last year. We expect Anderson and Dugger to put on another great show and the fans to love it.”
Anderson’s sophomore CD garnered the biggest hit of his career, “I Still Miss You”, which peaked at number two and another Top 25 hit, “Sunday Morning In America”.
Taking the lead with other gold and platinum artists, Anderson decided to take hold of the reigns this time by launching his music his own way and letting the fans help drive his music and passion.
Anderson’s latest song “I’ll Bring The Music” sums up Anderson to a T. That is one thing that you can always say about this academic athlete from Miami, Oklahoma who has always excelled at anything he has put his mind to, is he WILL bring the Music.
Although he has co-written hits for other artists, most notably “Lost In This Moment”, the No. 1 smash for Big $ Rich which garnered him a CMA and ACM Song of the Year nomination, Anderson does not write with other artists in mind. Anderson also co-wrote the Grammy-nominated, “Beer Run (B Double E Double Are You In?)” for Garth Brooks and George Jones, “The Bed” for Gretchen Wilson and “Barn Burner” for Jason Michael Carroll.
His debut CD, “Three Chord Country and American Rock & Roll”, was certified Gold and garnered two Top 10 hits (accompanied by two No. 1 music videos), “Pickin’ Wildflowers,” and “Every Time I Hear Your Name,” along with two Top 30 hits “XXL” and “Podunk”. This success prompted music trades Billboard and Radio & Records to name him country music’s No. 1 New Male Artist of 2005 and the top new solo country artist of the year.
Dugger will open the performance in Lot 10. Dugger is addicted to the “fast lane” – whether it’s horsepower in the pursuit of superstardom in country music, or hanging-out at the track with the major names in NASCAR who just happen to be his “good buddies.” Speed is in the blood of the Alabama-born native.
As an avid NASCAR follower, Dugger developed a loyal fan base in the country music clubs surrounding the race circuit.
Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is NASCAR’s fastest track and the Great Escape, a venerable NASCAR national park where fans can get away and enjoy the very best in racing and camaraderie. It’s the love of racing and the thrill of a great time for race fans and drivers alike.
