The tradition continues for the second year in a row as the Camping World Truck Series heads to Eldora Speedway for their second trip to the dirt track with the Mudsummer Classic. With a flix of dirt track and truck stars mixed together, it’s anyone’s guess as who will slide best on the dirt.
The Picks
Ashley McCubbin picked Ken Schrader and Kyle Larson. Both are talented and have multiple laps on dirt across the country in different forms of racecars. They both ran well last year with Larson finishing second and Schrader finishing sixth.
Tayler Stiles picked Ty Dillon and Kyle Larson. Dillon decided to make a trip to the dirt following his brother’s success last year and he should be strong, given the multiple laps that he has on dirt in a late model.
Kreistina Blinova did not file her picks so she has Ron Hornaday and John Hunter Nemechek. Hornaday is a series veteran and had a solid finish last year, while Nemechek will be trying out dirt for the first time as he transitions from asphalt late models to the trucks.
Ronald Costigan picked Erik Jones and Kyle Larson. Despite the limited dirt experience, Jones has been thrilling to watch so far and that trend should continue with his natural ability.
Marshal Gabell picked Austin Dillon and Kyle Larson. Dillon comes into the event as the defending race winner, and has a bunch of laps on dirt in late models.
Justin Tucker picked Austin Dillon and Kyle Larson.
Kyle Magda picked Austin Dillon and Kyle Larson.
Terry Wagner picked Ken Schrader and Kyle Larson.
Christina Cordner picked Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson. Blaney has limited dirt experience, however knows what to do behind the wheel of a truck and has his father Dave to lean on, who is a veteran on dirt.
Billy Stiles Jr. did not file his picks so he will have Ben Kennedy and Ron Hornaday. Kennedy will be fun to watch based on his dirt experience.
Robert Hill picked Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson.
Joni Stiles did not file her picks so she will have Erik Jones and Johnny Sauter.
Tyler Sontag did not file his picks so he will have Erik Jones and Matt Crafton.
Jeni Harris picked Ken Schrader and Matt Crafton.
