There are some times when drivers get cars hooked up and they become ultimately, unbeatable. This is looking to the case in the Mini Stock division as Brandon McFerran would score the feature victory, giving him a sweep for the weekend after winning Saturday night’s feature.
The night started off with Peter Inglis going for the spin on the first lap of the first heat. Then on lap three, James Townsend would send Justin Holmes around for the spin. McFerran picked up the win ahead of Billy Schwartzenburg, Samantha Shaw, Townsend, Miles Tyson, Kendra Adams, Holmes, Ember Junkin, Mike Gettliffe and Inglis.
The second heat didn’t go as Eric Rainey planned as he would stall the car before the start, failing to even complete a lap. Warren Paxton picked up the win ahead of Ryan Babin, Cory Young, Tyler Liscum, Tyler Junkin, Connor James, Nic Montonari, Stefan Woyslaw, Candiss Everingham and Dave Middel.
Andy Kamrath would win the final heat ahead of Jordan Howse, Danny Benedict, Terry Woodley, Gerritt Tiemersma, J.P Rosevaar, Jake Watson, Hudson Nagy, Ken Townsend and Chandler Bois.
The top 18 would be set by the heats, with the bottom end of the field set by a b-main. The b-main saw a quick caution at lap six for debris. After the restart, Watson would grab the lead after a side-by-side with Holmes. Only a corner away from his first career win, Watson would get loose and loop the mustang around, drawing the caution. Holmes would hold the field off on the green-white-checkered for the win ahead of Gettliffe, Townsend, Nagy, Watson, Bois, Rainey, Woyslaw, Everingham, Ember Junkin and Inglis.
Come feature time, Warren Paxton would start pole ahead of Brandon McFerran, Andy Kamrath, Billy Schwartzenburg, Ryan Babin, Jordan Howse, Samantha Shaw, Cory Young, Danny Benedict, James Townsend, Tyler Junkin, Terry Woodley, Miles Tyson, Connor James, Gerritt Tiemersma, Kendra Adams, Nic Montenari, J.P. Rosevaar, Justin Holmes, Mike Gettliffe, Hudson Nagy, Ken Townsend, Jake Watson, Chandler Bois, Eric Rainey, Stefan Woyslaw, Candiss Everingham, Dave Middel and Peter Inglis.
Brandon McFerran would get the start that he wanted, putting the No. 64 Peter D Laird, Meisner Construction, Road Ranger, Fast Eddie Racewear, Finish Line Painting and Restoring, absolutewebsite.com, Epic Race Wear Mustang out front in the lead as Paxton battled with Schwartzenburg for second. Schwartzenburg would grab the spot on lap two ahead of Paxton, while Howse and Kamrath battled for fourth. Kamrath would get by, getting alongside Paxton for fourth. Kamrath would complete the pass and bring Howse with him before the caution flew at lap six for a incident with Nagy and Townsend. With 29 laps to go, McFerran led Schwartzenburg, Kamrath, Howse, Babin, Paxton, Young, Shaw, Benedict, James Townsend, Tyler Junkin, Tyson, Tiemersma, James, Woodley, Adams, Holmes, Montenari, Rosevaar, Watson, Gettliffe, Bois, Rainey, Ember Junkin, Woyslaw, Everingham, Inglis and Middel.
McFerran would grab the advantage on the restart ahead of Schwartzenburg, Kamrath and Howse as Babin and Paxton battled for fifth. Kamrath would get alongside Schwartzenburg for second, shapping up for a good battle, when Schwartzenburg would cut down to pit road as quick as he could with an apparent mechanical problem. Schwartzenburg commented post-race that a loose coil wire took him out of contention for the win.
At lap 11, McFerran continued to lead Kamrath, Howse, Babin and Paxton as Benedict and Shaw battled for sixth. Shaw would get by at lap 14, bringing James Townsend and Young through with her.
Further up the field, Howse would get alongside Kamrath for second and the pair would have an intense battle back and forth all the way till the caution flew at lap 30 for Rosevaar being stalled up in turn two. With five laps to go, McFerran led Howse, Kamrath, Shaw, Babin, Paxton, James Townsend, Young, Benedict, James, Tyler Junkin, Tiemersma, Tyson, Adams and Woodley. Holmes ran as the first car a lap down, ahead of Watson, Gettliffe, Ember Junkin, Woyslaw, Bois, Nagy, Montanari, Rainey and Everingham.
Brandon McFerran would get a good restart and lead the final four laps, scoring the feature victory. Behind him, Andy Kamrath and Jordan Howse ragged battle for second back and forth, with Kamrath getting second ahead of Howse. Ryan Babin finished fourth, followed by James Townsend, Samantha Shaw, Warren Paxton, Cory Young, Tyler Junkin, Danny Benedict, Gerritt Tiemersma, Miles Tyson, Kendra Adams, Connor James, Terry Woodley, Justin Holmes, Jake Watson, Mike Gettliffe, Chandler Bois, Eric Rainey, Ember Junkin, Stefan Woyslaw, Hudson Nagy and Candiss Everingham.
