CONCORD, NC, July 29, 2014 – The NASCAR Nationwide Series’ second race at Iowa Speedway on August 2nd will feature some familiar names and sponsors.
U.S. Cellular continues its partnership with Iowa Speedway by serving as title sponsor of the U.S. Cellular 250 for a sixth consecutive year and its partnership with RAB Racing with Brack Maggard as the primary sponsor of the No. 29 Toyota Camry driven by veteran Kenny Wallace.
“U.S. Cellular is excited about our sponsorship of this NASCAR Nationwide Series race and to have Kenny Wallace back behind the wheel of his Toyota Camry,” said Erryn Andersen, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Iowa and Nebraska. “We have enjoyed being partners with Iowa Speedway since the track opened in 2006, and we look forward to another enthusiastic crowd and great display of racing for the U.S. Cellular 250.”
Wallace, who made his 900th career NASCAR start last September, finished 13th and 22nd during two Iowa Speedway appearances in 2013. The 50-year-old driver from Concord, North Carolina, has 543 career Nationwide Series starts.
“It will be a pleasure to once again have U.S. Cellular sponsoring my car, and I look forward to having a successful race,” said Wallace. “It’s always fun to visit with auto racing fans in Iowa and the great associates at U.S. Cellular leading up to the race.”
As part of the U.S. Cellular 250 Ultimate Sweepstakes, fans voted for Wallace’s car design from three selections and the design with the most votes was used to wrap Wallace’s vehicle for the U.S. Cellular 250. In addition, a grand prize winner will received a two-day VIP experience with Wallace on Aug. 1 and 2.
The Ultimate Sweepstakes winner and a guest will walk with Wallace, sit on the hauler and listen to practices and attend driver’s meetings each day. The VIP winner also will waive the green flag to start the U.S. Cellular 250 and watch up to 10 laps from the tower. The VIP experience also features two Newton Club tickets and a Newton Club parking pass for August 1st and 2nd.
“We love being a part of the Iowa community and enhancing the experience for residents who attend the U.S. Cellular 250 and other events across the state,” Andersen said.
Iowa Speedway also is excited to have U.S. Cellular back as a sponsor.
“We are incredibly proud to continue our mutually beneficial partnership with U.S. Cellular,” Iowa Speedway President Jimmy Small said. “U.S. Cellular is one of our longest running partners, and we look forward to helping U.S. Cellular build its brand at a time when Iowa Speedway is poised for growth.”
