Due to a constant rain fall and mist at Chicagoland Speedway, NASCAR officials were forced to postpone the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Lucas Oil 225 to Saturday night, following the Nationwide Series race that is scheduled during the afternoon. The truck race was supposed to run at 8:30 p.m. EST tonight. Officials have noted that the green flag for the truck race will fly at approximately 6 pm Central time tomorrow. Fox Sports has announced that they will carry the race on Fox Sports 2.
Rain also forced qualifying for the Lucas Oil 225 to be rained out, therefore causing the line-up to be set by Thursday’s final practice speeds. As a result, points leader Johnny Sauter will lead the field to the green flagt. Sauter enters this weekend with a seven point lead over Matt Crafton, hoping to lock up his first career truck championship.
Brennan Newberry will start second, followed by Jeb Burton, Austin Dillon and Ryan Blaney. Darrell Wallace Jr. will start sixth with Kyle Busch slated to start seventh. However, Busch will have to start from the rear as he missed practice yesterday due to Chase media obligations with Erik Jones practicing in his place. German Quiroga is listed eighth, followed by Matt Crafton and Timothy Peters.
