At the end of two days of qualifying for the Autumn Colors Classic, it’d be Ryan Kimball becoming the top qualifier with a second in his first heat, followed by the victory in his second heat. Kimball is driving an entry owned by Sean Grosman, as Grosman normally runs the car as a Limited Late Model at Sunset Speedway. Kimball knows his way around Peterborough Speedway, though, as he is this year’s Limited Late Model track champion.
Qualifying didn’t start out as Gary Elliott planned as he would go for a spin on the second lap of the first heat. Peterborough Speedway resident Dan McHattie picked up the win ahead of Kimball, Mark Watson, Mat Box, Chris Mitchell, Bruce Wheller and Elliott.
The second heat didn’t start out much prettier with the No. 1 spinning out of the lead, with Mike Bentley spinning mid-pack. Gord Shepherd picked up the win ahead of Bryan Mercer, Bentley, Craig Graham, Jamie Cox, Kent Nuhn, the 1 and Goetz.
The third heat would go to Kimball ahead of Watson, Liscum, McHattie, Lane Zardo (driving Bruce Wheller’s car), Mitchell, Box, Adam Quarrie and Elliott.
The final heat featured a quick caution on the opening lap with the 01 spinning. Craig Graham picked up the win ahead of Cox, Mercer, Bentley, Shepherd, Goetz, Nuhn, Gresel and the 1.
