Looking for his fourth straight NNS race at Phoenix, Kyle Busch would score the pole for the DAV 200 Honoring America’s Veterans. It marks his 43rd career pole and his seventh pole of this season. He set a new track record with a lap of 26.783 seconds in the first round, before posting a 26.873 in the second round.
Brad Keselowski would qualify second, followed by Erik Jones, Elliott Sadler and Alex Bowman. Bowman is making his second start with JR Motorsports while Sadler is hoping to have a much better week than last week when he had to get out of the car a couple laps in due to illness. Jones, meanwhile, won last night’s truck race.
Regan Smith would qualify sixth, followed by Ty Dillon, Brendan Gaughan, Brian Scott and Chase Elliott. Elliott comes into the race with a 48-point lead over his teammate Smith. If Elliott can finish in front of Smith and leads by at least 48 points, he will clinch the championship.
