On Friday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Ryan Blaney would lead both Nationwide Series practices for the Ford EcoBoost 300.
Blaney led the first practice with a lap of 32.154 seconds as he searches for his second Nationwide Series victory of the year, following a win earlier this year at Bristol Motor Speedway. Blaney will run the full Nationwide Series schedule next year in the No. 12 for Team Penske, while running a partial Sprint Cup Series schedule with Wood Brothers Racing. Blaney has ran the full NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule this year, and enters the finale sitting second in points behind Matt Crafton.
Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Elliott Sadler and Matt Kenseth were second and third, respectively; Sadler will move over to Roush Fenway Racing over the off-season. 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion Chase Elliott was fourth, followed by his teammate Regan Smith. Smith is looking for a solid finish to lock up second in points.
Ross Chastain was sixth, followed by Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson and Brian Scott.
Blaney would then lead the final practice with a lap of 32.097 seconds, followed by Ty Dillon, Busch, Sadler and Larson. Scott was sixth, followed by Kenseth, John Wes Townley, Keselowski and Smith. Elliott was 14th quickest.
