Bad Brad is just fast this weekend, period. After setting a top-five time in Sprint Cup Qualifying, Brad Keselowski won the pole for the Ford EcoBoost 300 with a lap of 32.455 seconds. It marks Keselowski’s 19th career pole and his fifth pole of the 2014 season.
The No. 22 Ford of Team Penske comes into the event leading the owner’s standings by 29 points over Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 54 Toyota. Penske with Keselowski behind the wheel will hope to lock up the championship this weekend.
Kyle Larson would qualify second, 0.006 seconds off of Keselowski’s quick time, for his 18th top-10 start of the year. Matt Kenseth qualified third, followed by Elliott Sadler and Ryan Blaney.
Kyle Busch, in the No. 54, qualified sixth, followed by Brian Scott, Brendan Gaughan, Dylan Kwasniewski and Chris Buescher.
2014 Nationwide Series Champion Chase Elliott would qualify 14th.
