Joe Gibbs Racing released a statement on Thursday, December 11th that Kyle Busch underwent successful scheduled surgery on his left foot and is expected to make a full recovery to be ready for the season opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. The surgery, performed by Dr. Robert Anderson of OrthoCarolina, was performed to relieve a recurring source of inflammation.
Busch finished 10th in points this past season, working with Dave Rogers, with a win, nine top-fives and 15 top-10s in the 36 races. He will have a new crew chief in 2015, working with Adam Stevens. Stevens was the crew chief for Busch’s Nationwide Series races, which saw the Las Vegas native score seven wins and 25 top-fives in 26 starts in 2014.
