Diamond Chassis announced on Friday, December 12th that they have joined forces with Ron Hornaday and Drew Blickensderfer. Hornaday and Blickensderfer will be helping Diamond Chassis with their chassis building.
“I am excited to get back to my roots of chassis building,” Hornaday Jr. said in a release. “Prior to living out my dream of driving in NASCAR my wife Lindy and I owned our own Chassis building company in California Victory Circle.
“After meeting Ryan and putting my grandson Slater in a Diamond Chassis I really wanted to figure out a way to go back and start building turn-key winning chassis”.
Hornaday crossed paths with Ryan Thomas of Diamond Chassis when he built a car for Hornaday’s grandson and Blickensderfer’s son Slater Blickensderfer.
Diamond Chassis has been in the business since 2007, producing bare bar and turn-key chassis for drivers, with each chassis tailored to that driver’s needs.
“I met Ron and his family early last year at a dirt track in Indiana and just took a liking to him,” Thomas said. “I never thought in a million years we would partner up together on building turn-key chassis.
“This is a great day not just for me personally but for the members of Diamond Race Cars employees and drivers.”
Hornaday is hoping to run some NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races in 2015, but nothing has materialized yet for the 56-year-old. Hornaday has competed in the trucks for 17 years, starting 360 races with 51 wins, 158 top-fives and 234 top-10 finishes to his credit.
