Concord, N.C. (Feb. 3, 2015) – When NASCAR launches a new racing season later this month at historic Daytona International Speedway in Florida, Zaxby’s new Chickenflage paint scheme will be seen circling the mammoth 2.5-mile speedway.
John Wes Townley will wheel the No. 05 Zaxby’s Chickenflage Chevrolet Silverado in the NASCAR Camping World Series season opener at Daytona on Friday night, Feb. 20. Townley will return to racing’s grandest stage the following afternoon when he competes in the first event of the year in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in the No. 25 Zaxby’s Chickenflage Chevrolet Camaro.
The unique look, which Townley will sport in NASCAR Xfinity and Truck events during the months of February and March, coincides with the Athens, Georgia-based fast casual restaurant’s promotion of its Boneless Wings Meal with new Spicy Honey BBQ sauce. In conjunction with the latest ad campaign featuring Uncle Si from Duck Dynasty, this limited-time offering includes a souvenir Chickenflage cup (available in restaurants) and tshirts (available online at zaxbys.com).
“Zaxby’s customers have responded well to the Chickenflage promotion and the new Spicy Honey BBQ sauce,” said Townley, who will compete full-time in NASCAR’s Truck Series in 2015 and run the majority of this year’s NASCAR Xfinity events. “I’m excited to bring this promotion to life on the track.”
The 25-year old veteran driver also believes this will be a breakthrough season for him that will see Townley earn his first NASCAR victory.
“I can’t wait to get to Daytona and get the NASCAR season started,” said Townley, winner of the 2013 season-opening ARCA race at Daytona. “We’ve got Mike Ford back with us calling the shots for the No. 25 car and Michael Shelton heading things up for our No. 05 truck.
“We’ll be running Chevrolet engines from Hendrick Motorsports. And our team, Athenian Motorsports, just moved into a new, state-of-the-art facility in Concord, N.C. With Zaxby’s onboard again, I truly believe 2015 is going to be a successful campaign for our Truck and Xfinity teams.”
