Veteran driver, Joe Nemechek, has been chosen to drive the No. 34 Ford Fusion for Front Row Motorsports this weekend in the Folds of Honor Quicktrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The No. 34 car became vacant when David Ragan was given permission by the team to be the substitute driver in the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry for Kyle Busch who was injured in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona.
Nemechek, who is in his 23rd year of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition, has a total of four wins with four different teams. He has 38 starts at Atlanta, amassing three top-five’s and seven top-ten’s.
Just as Ragan at Daytona, Nemechek will be required to qualify on speed due to the fact that the owner points for No. 34 were transferred to the team’s No. 35 car driven by Cole Whitt.
The team has not yet announced who will drive the car after Atlanta.
