Among the drivers that have committed to running the APC United Late Model Ontario Tour is Matt Lockwood as he looks to begin his sophomore season of Pro Late Model competition.
“I think it’s going to be a crazy season,” he commented. “Some of the best names are coming out to the series. It’s only my second season in a pro late, so I mean, we’re just out here for experience right now, but I’m hoping to accomplish something this year.”
Lockwood added that he made the decision to join the series due to being an APC associate store, and being impressed with Luke Ramsay’s plans for the series.
“With what Luke Ramsay and APC have done with this series, it’s great,” he continued. “It’s the next best thing, I think.”
Lockwood is coming off of his rookie season at Flamboro Speedway, in which he felt for his first year in a pro late went well.
“We raced all the Grisdale Triple Crown Series, and finished each one of them and didn’t make too many enemies I hope, so it was a great season for me,” he commented.
Lockwood got his start through an opportunity that came up through his family’s business – Grisdale’s.
“It’s a family business, and an opportunity came up with this car so I took it,” he said. “I’ve loved it ever since.”
