NSCS: Sprint All-Star Race Fan Vote Opens Today

As of Thursday, March 19th, the Sprint Fan Vote is open for the 2015 Sprint All-Star Race on Saturday, May 16th at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Fans are welcome to vote for their favourite Fan-Vote eligible driver by casting ballots daily via the NASCAR MOBILE application or visiting http://www.nascar.com/SprintFanVote. Voting will close at 7 p.m. EST on Friday, March 15th, with the winner be announced following the conclusion of the Sprint Showdown.

There is a new addition to the program this year, though. If you share your vote via Facebook or Twitter, it count as double towards a driver’s total.

Race winners from last season, as well race winners for this season are automatically locked in the field. The rest of the drivers must then qualify by either being top-two in the Sprint Showdown, or winning the Fan Vote. To be eligible for the Sprint Fan Vote, a driver must fit the following requirements as laid out by NASCAR – drivers must have attempted to qualify for the 2015 Daytona 500 and race in the Sprint Showdown. If a driver currently on the fan vote list wins a race between now and May, they will automatically be in the field and their name will re moved from the Sprint Fan Vote, with existing votes being voided.

The Sprint Showdown will be shown at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, May 15th on FOX Sports 1, with Sprint All-Race coverage beginning with qualifying starting at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 16th, followed by the Sprint All-Star Race live on FOX Sports 1
