The 2014 season marked a successful one for Anthony Dibello as he was able to burst on the scene as one of the Ontario’s top thunder car drivers, scoring the 2014 Peterborough Speedway Championship.
“We had a good car,” he commented. “There was a good car count all year and we picked up a few wins. It ended up being a good season.”
Dibello said that he started to realize that he had a chance at the championship about midway through the season, and watched the battle come down to the final race of the season, right down to the last lap between himself and veteran Howie Crowe Jr.
“Howie gave us a good run, didn’t give anything to us and it was all out the last night,” Dibello commented. “We gave it all we had.”
Dibello says the success is something that’s been a long time coming, but glad to see it happen with all the hours that the team put into building the car.
Now heading into the new season, he’s not feeling any pressure moving forward as he’s “just going to go back and defend and see what we can do.”
