As part of the Short Track Night of Champions at the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Show, Shawn McGlynn was honored for his 2014 Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup Championship.
“It’s an old car, we’ve had it a long time,” McGlynn commented on his LOSC ride. “Once you get a car working good, it’s easy to maintain that speed.”
He also revealed during the night that he will be running both the full APC United Late Models of Ontario Series, and the LOSC Series.
“I’m looking forward to the guys that I’m going to be racing with in the APC Series that I haven’t had a chance to run with,” he commented. “It’s been a lot of fun being in this racing world. There’s a lot of relationships that you build over the years and there’s a bunch of guys that I’m going to know better and their crews and families. That’s what I’m looking forward to most.”
While he has gotten used to his LOSC car, he says this year will be different with the new Pro Late Model as “it’ll be a learning curve” but he feels that he can do well.
In trying to run both series, though, there is a couple of races that overlap. As a result, McGlynn revealed that J.R. Fitzpatrick will drive the Pro Late Model for a race. He has yet to find a driver to run the LOSC car for the event that he will miss there, though.
