At the end of the only practice for the Lucas Oil 200, it’d be Erik Jones topping the charts with a lap of 23.094 seconds.
This year’s event marks the first trip for Jones to Dover International Speedway as he tackles the full schedule for Kyle Busch Motorsports. So far this year, he sits second in points with four top-10 finishes.
Cole Custer was second quickest as he looks to make his second start of the season. Custer ran Martinsville Speeway earlier this year, fighting for the win late in the race with Matt Crafton till contact and a spin took him out of contention. Custer became the youngest truck series winner last year when he won at New Hampshire International Speedway.
Daniel Suarez, who continues to get stronger with each start, was third quickest to put two Kyle Busch Motorsports trucks in the top-three in practice. Suarez is looking for his first truck win after posting a couple top-fives to start the season as he runs the full XFINITY schedule for Joe Gibbs Racing.
Cameron Hayley was fourth quickest, looking to bounce back following 14th place finish at Charlotte, while fellow rookie Daniel Hemric was fifth.
Ryan Blaney was sixth quickest in his return to the truck series, followed by Jesse Little, John Hunter Nemechek, Tyler Reddick and Justin Boston.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will qualify tomorrow at 12:45 pm EST, with the green flag for the Lucas Oil 200 expected at 5:30pm EST.
