After taking a well-deserved break, the Midas of Orangeville OSCAAR Midgets will be back in action this weekend at Flamboro Speedway. It should be an action packed weekend as they’ll be joined there by the Hoosier OSCAAR Modifieds and the Dickies OSCAAR Outlaws Presented by London Recreational Racing.
Jamie Bound (#83) will be looking for his fifth straight victory this weekend after skipping the previous event at Grand Bend Raceway. The 2014 Hurricane Midget Champion has won in six of his seven starts thus far this season. He didn’t win in June on Sunset as he had a right front hub break while leading on lap 12 of the feature.
Steve Lassman (#37) will be looking for his second straight top-10 finish after finishing eighth at Sauble Speedway and ninth at Grand Bend Speedway.
James Stanley (#57) comes into Flamboro with momentum on his side, following a podium finish at Grand Bend. It marked his second podium finish of the season to go with a third earlier this season at Peterborough.
Rob McCall (#62) heads out at Flamboro also with momentum on his side, following three straight top-five finishes, including a podium at Peterborough last month.
Brian McDonald (#42) is hoping that the positive momentum on his side leads to success this weekend after posting three straight top-six finishes, including a fourth at Grand Bend, to currently sit fifth in points.
James Rodgers (#77) is hoping to turn his luck around this weekend so he can score his first top-10 finish of the season. Rodgers has proven that he can get the job done as evident by finishing fifth at the Velocity 250 last fall at Sunset Speedway and his victory in the season-ending Autumn Colors Classic at Peterborough Speedway.
Jody Bound (#5) has been the impressive rookie to watch thus far this season, showing speed that could have easily ended in his first career victory. He enters this weekend needing a good run after posting a pair of back-to-back finishes outside of the top-10. A solid finish could help gain points in the championship as he currently sits second, only one point behind Brian Woodland for the lead.
Mike McLaughlin (#17) is looking to return to the top-10 form that he saw early in the season after posting a pair of finishes outside of the top-10.
Raynor Vickers (#86) has been getting better each week, posting his best finish of the season at Grand Bend two weeks ago. Could he turn that into his first top-five this weekend?
Paul Draganoc (#18) is hoping to bounce back this weekend with a strong run after three straight finishes outside of the top-10. He has shown speed thus far this season as highlighted by a second at Peterborough in the second event of the year and currently sits fourth in points, 15 points out of the lead. Larry Lawson (#8) is hoping to bounce back, as well, as he has finished outside of the top-10 the past two weeks.
Lorne Van Dusen (#3) didn’t start the year like he wanted with three finishes outside of the top-10. However, he was able to turn it around in his OSCAAR appearance with a seventh at Peterborough. Does that positive trend continue this weekend? You can add Shawn Stones (#51) as a driver looking to turn his luck around as he has only posted one top-10 thus far this season, and that came in the season opener.
Wayne McKibbon (#71) cracked the top-10 for the first time at Grand Bend, finishing eighth. Meanwhile, Craig Deacon (#13) is hoping to return back to the top-10 as he has posted three finishes outside of the top-15 since starting off his year with a strong seventh place finish at Peterborough.
Adam Carrothers (#68) is looking for his fourth straight top-six finish after posting finishes of fifth, third and sixth thus far this season.
Rob Summers (#85) is hoping to qualify this weekend after failing to qualify for the feature on Saturday. He started off the year solidly, posting an eighth place finish at Peterborough.
Bob Ross (#28) is hoping to score his fourth straight top-10 finish this weekend, after scoring his best finish of the season with a sixth at Grand Bend.
Richard Woodland (#84) is looking for his third straight podium finish in hopes of gaining points in the championship as he currently sits 15 points out of the lead. His fellow family mate Brian Woodland (#48) is the current points lead, leading Jody Bound by a single point. He has yet to finish outside of the top-seven in any of the races thus far this season.
Kevin Spiez (#98) is hoping to post his first top-10 finish of the season after finishing 12th at Sauble Speedway,
Katherine Summers (#26) is hoping to keep the positive momentum going, after posting her second top-10 of the season at Grand Bend with a 10th place finish.
Jessica James (#2) will be looking to return to the top-10 as she hasn’t finished in the top-10 since July when she finished third at Sunset Speedway, following her win at Full Throttle Motor Speedway.
Wally Wilson (#69) is hoping for his first top-10 this weekend after coming up one spot short at Grand Bend.
Robin McLean (#97) started off the year with three straight top-four finishes, and then finished 21st at Peterborough in July. Since then, he has yet to return to the track. If he is on track this weekend, he’ll be hoping to turn his luck around.
After struggling early this year, the Bradley Brothers have been able to bounce back with Dave Bradley posting a fourth place finish at Peterborough. Whether it’s Dave or Mike behind the wheel, keep an eye on the No. 53 this weekend.
