Racing in memory of his father this season, Ryan Semple put in a dominating performance on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, leading all 50 laps en route to scoring the victory in the St. Onge Recreation Super Stock feature. Semple becomes the eighth different feature winner this season in the 12 events thus far.
Dennis Cybalski won the first heat ahead of Dan Archibald, Semple, Adam Martin, Matt Bentley, Brendan Adams, Chris Howse, Nick Tooley, William Hughes, Kevin Reynolds, Jim Morrison, and Donny Munce.
Cayden Lapcevich won the second heat ahead of Lane Zardo, Randy Rusnell, Stan Coe, Mike Weeda, Coltin Everingham, Jason Elliott, Dwight Bell, Luke Gignac, Jade Franklin, Keith Temple, Dustyn Mombourquette and Candiss Everingham.
The Fast Qualifier’s Dash would see a quick caution as contact between Archibald and Zardo resulted in Zardo spinning off of turn four. Weeda would then go for a quick spin on the backstretch. Cayden Lapcevich went for the daily double ahead of Bentley, Coe, Rusnell, Cybalski, Martin, Archibald, Zardo, Weeda, Adams and Coltin Everingham.
Bell would go for a quick spin in the b-main in turn two on lap six. Chris Howse picked up the win ahead of Tooley, Reynolds, Elliott, Temple, Hughes, Morrison, Candiss Everingham, Mombourquette, Bell, Gignac and Morrison as Munce ran into mechanical problems.
Come feature time, Chris Howse would start on pole ahead of Ryan Semple, Lane Zardo, Mike Weeda, Keith Temple, Kevin Reynolds, Stan Coe, Brendan Adams, Dennis Cybalski, Coltin Everingham, Adam Martin, Matt Bentley, Dan Archibald, Cayden Lapcevich, Nick Tooley, Randy Rusnell, Johnny Morrison, William Hughes, Candiss Everingham, Dustyn Mombourquette, Dwight Bell, Luke Gignac, Donny Munce and Jason Elliott.
On the drop of the green flag, Ryan Semple would put the No. 64 Hwy 400 Transmission, Rosemont Limousine, Hybrid Landscape, C.W Coops Alcona, Auto Trim Barrie, Anderson Sheet Metal, Streamline Race Products Camaro ahead of Howse as Zardo and Weeda battled for third. Zardo would get the spot third spot on lap two, getting alongside Howse for second a lap later. He would then complete the pass for the second spot on lap six.
Kevin Reynolds would then grab the third spot from Howse on lap seven. Weeda would then get alongside Howse for fourth a lap later, while Coe and Bentley battled for sixth. Weeda would get the fourth spot on lap 10, with Coe getting alongside Howse for fifth. Coe would then get fifth on lap 11, bringing Bentley through with him. Lapcevich would then move into seventh on lap 12 ahead of Howse as Rusnell and Temple battled for ninth.
At the front of the field, Semple would continue to lead Zardo, Reynolds, Weeda and Bentley as Lapcevich battled Coe for sixth. Lapcevich would grab the spot on lap 15, getting alongside Bentley for fifth. He would then pass Bentley a lap later, getting alongside Weeda for fourth. He would then take the fourth spot on lap 17 as Bentley got alongside Weeda for fifth. Ahead of them, Lapcevich got alongside Reynolds for third, taking the spot at lap 19.
Semple continued to hold a steady lead, over half a straigthaway ahead of Zardo as Lapcevich began closing in on Zardo for second. Behind them, Bentley now ran fourth ahead of Reynolds, Rusnell, Weeda, Coe, Howse and Temple as they made their way through lap traffic. Rusnell would then get by Reynolds for the fifth spot with seven laps to go. Reynolds would now run sixth ahead of Coe, Weeda, Howse, Temple, Adams, Archibald and Morrison.
At the front of the field, Ryan Semple would lead the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory while Cayden Lapcevich would get by Lane Zardo in the final laps to finish second. Matt Bentley and Randy Rusnell rounded out the top-five ahead of Stan Coe, Kevin Reynolds, Mike Weeda, Chris Howse, Keith Temple, Brendan Adams and Dan Archibald. Johnny Morrison was the first car one lap down in 13th, followed by Coltin Everingham, Adam Martin, Dennis Cybalski, Donny Munce, Luke Gignac, Nick Tooley and William Hughes. Candiss Everingham would round out the field.
