Starting on the pole, Jordan Howse would lead all 25 laps en route to scoring the Graham Landscape Mini Stock feature victory on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Andy Kamrath won the first heat ahead of Doug Butler, Eric Yorke, Danny Benedict, Nic Montanari, Brandon McFerran, Terry Woodley, Bob Phinnemore and Steve Belanger.
The second heat featured a quick caution on lap two when Richard Butler and Gerrit Tiemersma would tangle, with Kendra Adams spinning behind them. She would then go for another quick spin with two laps to go, but there’d no caution. Jordan Howse picked up the win ahead of Tiemersma, Warren Paxton, Jake Watson, Butler, Miles Tyson and Adams.
Andy Kamrath went for the daily double, winning the Fast Qualifer’s Dash ahead of Howse, Yorke, Butler, Paxton, Benedict, Tiemersma, McFerran, Montanari, Watson and Tyson.
Come feature time, Jordan Howse would start the No. 72 Stewart’s Equipment, Kubota, Glenn Windrem Trucking, Paul Howse and Associates, Central Industrial Supply, Foodland of Hillsburgh, Progressive Waste, Howse Automotive, John Teune Engines, FierceWraps.ca, MacMaster Motorsports, Chris Braiding and Georgia Beck Brooms Mustang on pole ahead of Gerrit Tiemersma, Kendra Adams, Eric Yorke, Jake Watson, Justin Holmes, Brandon McFerran, Richard Butler, Doug Butler, Warren Paxton, Danny Benedict and Steve Belanger.
Howse would take the early lead ahead of Tiemersma and Yorke as Adams and Holmes battled for fourth. Adams would get the spot on lap four, with McFerran moving up to fifth with Butler in toe. Butler would look for fifth on McFerran on lap four, but the caution would fly for Kamrath going up in smoke through turns three and four. It marks Kamrath’s second blown motor in the past three weeks; he won last week’s feature.
On the restart, Howse would maintain the advantage ahead of Tiemersma and Yorke as Butler and McFerran battled for fourth. Butler would get the spot on lap eight ahead of McFerran. Paxton would run sixth ahead of Benedict and Adams as Watson battled Holmes for ninth. Watson would get the spot on lap 10 ahead of Holmes with Woodley running 11th.
Further up the field, Paxton would get alongside McFerran for fifth, while Phinnemore would spin deep in the field in turn three. The race would remain green and he’d eventually get it back going straight. Howse would continue leading ahead of Tiemersma, Yorke, Butler, Paxton, Benedict, McFerran, Adams, Watson, Woodley, Montanari and Holmes. Watson would get alongside Adams for eighth, but was unable to complete the pass. Instead, Woodley would get alongside Watson for ninth, completing the pass.
Further up the field with the laps wounding down, Butler would get alongside Yorke for third with five laps to go, completing the pass a lap later.
At the front of the field, though, Jordan Howse led the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory ahead of Gerrit Tiemersma, Doug Butler, Eric Yorke, Warren Paxton, Danny Benedict, Brandon McFerran, Terry Woodley, Jake Watson, Nic Montanari, Justin Holmes, Kendra Adams, Miles Tyson and Richard Butler. Steve Belanger pitted with a mechanical issue with three laps to go, while Phinnemore pitted back with eight laps to go after his spin.
