Race will be His First Start with No. 98 Biagi DenBeste team
This weekend’s race marks the return of Ryan Truex to the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Richmond International Raceway (RIR) will be the site of the first of three scheduled starts of the 2015 season for the young New Jersey driver. It’s also the site of his first start for Biagi DenBeste Racing. The team fielded a car for fellow RPM driver, Aric Almirola, at the track in the spring race earlier this year resulting in a Top-15 effort. With a history of success at the Virginia short track, Truex has a great opportunity to make his a return to driving a memorable one.
Truex made four XFINITY Series starts at Richmond, resulting in one Top-Five and two Top-10 finishes. As an organization, Biagi Denbeste Racing has made 11 XFINITY Series starts at RIR, with two Top-10 finishes.
“I’m very excited to be back racing again. Richmond is one of my favorite tracks. It’s one of those tracks I picked up on right away and had early success. It takes a lot of finesse and patience, and I’ve been fortunate to be able to learn a lot from the veterans of our sport. The key is to stay out of trouble and keep our mistakes to a minimum. If we can do that all night, we’ll have a great finish.”
