Time to bluster through the field: After earning a 26th place finish in last weekend’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race in Richmond, Eric McClure is hopeful for round two at Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap’s® home track. In what will be his 14th start at the 1.5-mile track in Joliet, Ill. the Virginia native has earned six top-25 finishes at Chicagoland Speedway. His spring 2012 efforts posted his best start of 19th and his best finish of 18th came in the spring of 2011. Finishing 26th in this season’s spring event at Chicagoland Speedway, McClure is confident his team will continue to make successful strides.
McClure’s thoughts on Chicagoland Speedway: I’m looking forward to Chicagoland, I love competing there. We had a respectable race the first race there [on the lead lap] which was sort of a springboard to better our overall team runs; despite some circumstantial issues that affected our finishes. We have continued to climb in points and gain as a team. I am hopeful we can continue the trend this weekend.”
No. 24 Hefty® Toyota Camry: The No. 24 Hefty® / Reynolds Wrap® crew will unload chassis No.121 for this weekend’s Furious 7 300.
