The SouthEast Super Truck Series (SEST) will be returning to the high banked concrete jungle of Kingsport Speedway in Kingsport, TN. For those of you that do not know anything about the series, it was founded in 2011 by Jeff Myers. Jeff has been around the sport for a really long time competing in just about anything with wheels and was very successful with it.
He wanted to create a series that was affordable and the rules packages was eqaul for all trucks with old bodies to new bodies and from the wide variety of engine combinations thats available. He scheduled the races were there far enough apart that there was a gap between races to help cut costs, and pretty much all the tracks are with a hour and a half within each other. The series has taken well off the ground and been grown stronger and bigger over the years. They have seen drivers aging from 13 to 72 years old.
They are gearing down for the final few races of the 2015 season, it has been a very tight points battle all season long. The current points leader Lee Tissot out of Asheville, NC has four wins and his season statistics also include ten top-fives, and ten top-tens. Tissot currently has a 35 point lead over second place, Tim Lollis. Lollis, from Easley, SC, has two wins this season and is a three year veteran of the series. “I just got to try to get the best finish we can at the last 2 races, but its going to be hard to overtake Lee in the points. So I guess we just need to hold onto the second place. I have awesome sponsors Bryan Ramey Law Firm, Roots Tire and Auto Service, Mcintosh Roofing, Osteens Collision Repair and my team have worked hard all season long. I have finished second before at Tri-County and a third at Kingsport so both tracks are pretty good to me.” said Lollis. Lollis’ season stats include two wins, six top-fives, and eight top-tens.
Riding back in third in the tight points battle is the youngster, Cole Glasson from Rockwell, TX. Cole is 15 years old, has been with the series for three years now, and drives for Mart Nesbitt Racing. He is sitting 37 points out of first place. “I want to win the championship, but my goal is to finish runner up this year, Im just focusing on winning the last two races of the year. I have a great team that works hard on putting me up front each and every week.” stated Glasson. His season stats include eight top-fives, and eight top-tens.
Its coming down to the wire, so with that being said you don’t want to miss a beat during the last couple races with the SouthEast Super Truck Series. They have two very unique tracks, and the outcome could be anybody’s game.
