Joliet, Ill. – September 16, 2015 –Chicagoland Speedway today announced NBC’s Chicago P.D. star, Jon Seda, as the Honorary Pace Car Driver for the myAFibRisk.com 400, first race in theChase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, on Sunday, Sept. 20.
A brief pre-race appearance before stepping into a 2015 Toyota Camry, Official Pace Car of Chicagoland Speedway, will highlight Seda’s most recent “role” as Honorary Pace Car Driver for the myAFibRisk.com 400. In this position, Seda will precede the field of drivers during their warm-up lap leading to the start of the first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Seda is best known for his roles as Detective Paul Falsone in NBC’s Homicide: Life on the Streets and legendary Marine John Basilone in Steven Spielberg’s follow up to Band of Brothers, The Pacific. In 2012, Seda began starring as Detective Antonio Dawson in yet another NBC hit drama, Chicago Fire. That role helped to launch the spin-off Chicago P.D. where Seda continues to portray Detective Dawson.
Joining Seda at the myAFibRisk.com 400 on Sunday will be his Chicago P.D. co-stars Marina Squerciati (Kim Burgess), Patrick Flueger (Adam Ruzek) and LaRoyce Hawkins (Kevin Atwater). Squerciati, Flueger and Hawkins will assist with pre-race ceremonies and will accompany Jon Seda at the start line.

The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend at Chicagoland Speedway, Sept. 18-20, will begin with I-Cash Pole Qualifying followed by the American Ethanol E15 225 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race under the lights on Friday night. On Saturday, Sept. 19, the Furious 7300 NASCAR XFINITY Series will hit the track as the precursor to Sunday’s myAFibRisk.com 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series showdown, the first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
