POOLE LOOKING FOR MORE BLUE GRASS MAGIC
Brennan Poole returns to the seat of the No. 42 DC Solar Chevrolet Camaro for the 15th time in 2015. Through 14 starts, Poole has two top-10s and nine top-15 finishes, with an average starting position of 16.2 and an average finishing position of 17.9. Poole’s most recent ARCA Racing Series victory was earned in Kentucky last October. He led 27 of 100 laps that night in his first-ever start at the 1.5-mile speedway. Poole competed in the July XFINITY Series race in Kentucky, starting 17th and finishing 12th. He has two remaining XFINITY Series starts in 2015 in Charlotte and Kansas.
RIDE WITH POOLE
Poole will once again carry the DC Solar on-board camera for Saturday’s 300-mile race. Tune into NBC Sports Network for all the action from the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300.
LOOKING BACK AT CHICAGOLAND
Kyle Larson piloted the No. 42 ENEOS Chevrolet Camaro for the 300-mile race last Saturday evening at Chicagoland Speedway. Larson started sixth and wasted no time racing up to third, where he spent the remainder of the evening. The race saw several teams stretch fuel to the end of the 300-mile event. Unfortunately with less than five laps to go Larson ran out of fuel going into turn one. After returning to the track, Larson crossed the finish line in 22nd.
POOLE ON KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY
“Kentucky will always be a special place in my racing career. I won an ARCA race there last October. It has several grooves with a surface that is worn and bumpy, which makes it fun to race on. Going back to a track I have competed on previously in an XFINITY car certainly gives me extra confidence. Kentucky has awesome fans and I can’t wait to race in front of them this weekend.”
CREW CHIEF MIKE SHIPLETT ON KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY
“Kentucky is truly a driver’s track. Once the surface begins to take rubber it will develop two nice grooves to race on. We do all of our practice during the day and race at night, so making the right adjustments as the track changes will be important. This race can also see quite a bit of pit strategy, so getting off-sequence can be crucial to having a good finish. Brennan did a nice job in July and we hope that he continues to improve this second time around.”
