New Hampshire Motor Speedway has unveiled a special Jeff Gordon coin to commemorate his record-breaking 789th consecutive Cup Series start, which is expected to be set during the SYLVANIA 300 on Sept. 27, 2015, at the Magic Mile. The double-sided coin features Gordon’s historic number 24 and mention of his record on one side and the New Hampshire Motor Speedway 25th Anniversary logo on the other side.
The coin is currently being offered as a part of the “Roar for 24” package, which includes a grandstand ticket and pre-race pit pass to the SYLVANIA 300, along with a scanner rental and a commemorative hero card of Gordon’s three career wins at NHMS. Fans may also look for the coin at the NHMS Gift Shop on race weekend.
Gordon’s streak of starts dates back to his first career Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Nov. 15, 1992. He is the only driver to have started all 41 Cup races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, a streak that is expected to end when Gordon retires from full-time racing at the end of the 2015 season.
