Ahead of Sunday’s 50 lap feature for the Super Stocks at Sunset Speedway, they would take to the track for qualifying on Saturday afternoon as part of the Velocity 250 weekend presented by London Recreational Racing.
Sunset Speedway sophomore Adam Martin picked up the win ahead of fellow Sunset regular Dan Archibald. Jake Zevenbergen finished third ahead of Sunset regulars Jason Elliott, Keith Temple, Mike Weeda and Coltin Everingham. Sauble Speedway regular Todd Davenport finished eighth, followed by Paul Maltese, Nick Hamill, D’Arcy Gribbin, William Hughes and Adam Misener.
The second heat saw a tirade of problems as Darryl Fice would break an axle, losing the wheel on lap two. Cayden Lapcevich would also pull off the track after being door slammed by the Ken McNicol. John Latimer would then pull off after contact with Ken Grubb on lap six.
Sunset Speedway regular Randy Rusnell picked up the win ahead of fellow regular Brendan Adams. 2015 Sauble Speedway Champion Ken Grubb finished third ahead of Sunset regulars Nick Tooley and Dennis Cybalski. Glenn Schnurr finished sixth ahead of McNicol, Miles Tyson, Cameron McGlashan and Kevin Reynolds.
The third heat saw a caution at lap two for debris in turn four off of the 28x. Then on the restart, Jaymee Adams would spin in turn three, with Matt Johnson and Paul Geniole Jr. getting collected in the process. Sunset Speedway regular Ryan Semple picked up the win ahead of fellow regulars Matt Bentley, Johnny Morrison, Rob Morrison, Donny Munce and Chris Howse. Jason Legge finished seventh ahead of Adams and Wally Everingham.
The fourth heat would see Keith Temple pull off before the start with a problem. Mike Weeda picked up the win ahead of Archibald, Elliott, Martin, Davenport, Maltese, Zevenbergen, Coltin Everingham, Hughes, Gribbin and Hamill.
The caution would fly on lap three for the Schnurr going for a quick spin. 2015 Sunset Speedway Champion Cayden Lapcevich picked up the win ahead of Sauble regulars Grubb and Joe Adams. Rusnell finished fourth ahead of Cybalski, Tyson, Adams, McNicol, Tooley, McGlashan, Reynolds and Latimer.
Matt Bentley won the final heat ahead of Geniole Jr., Semple, Howse, ohnny Morrison, Munce, Legge, Rob Morrison, Ethan Cournyea, Wally Everingham and Johnson.
The St. Onge Recreation Super Stocks will return to the track on Sunday afternoon for a b-main to set the back half of the field, followed by a 75-lap feature. The afternoon/evening of racing gets underway at 1pm EST with Dickies OSCAAR Outlaws presented by London Recreational Racing qualifying starting off the show.
