ADVANCE NOTES
Reed at Dover
Reed has three career NASCAR XFINITY Series starts at Dover International Speedway. He recorded his best finish of 11th at the track in May of this year after starting 17th and fighting loose conditions throughout the race. Timely adjustments along with quick pit stops from the crew put Reed in position to finish just outside of the top 10.
Riding with Ryan
American Diabetes Association® Youth Ambassador Sadie Davis will ride along with Ryan Reed this weekend. The Georgetown, Del. native will have her name featured on a decal above the passenger-side door on the No. 16 Ford Mustang. Davis was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 10, nearly three years ago. The 12-year-old is an advocate for everyone living with diabetes. Over the summer, she met with legislators in D.C. to encourage continued diabetes research funding and was recognized for her work by the Delaware Legislature.
Kentucky Recap
Reed finished 25th at Kentucky Speedway on Saturday night after being involved in an incident on Lap two.
Pre-Race Checklist
Ryan Reed and teammate Chris Buescher will both sport Lilly Diabetes paint schemes this weekend at Dover. Reed, who lives with diabetes, must go through some extra steps to prepare for the race while managing his diabetes. To recognize how individuals living with diabetes manage their diabetes differently, the two drivers detail how managing their pre-race routines differ as well. Reed and Buescher compare their pre-race checklists here.
Follow @Reed16Team and @Buescher60Team on Twitter for updates on the drivers’ completion of their pre-race checklists in Dover.
2015 Season
Reed is currently tenth in the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship standings with six races remaining in the 2015 season.
Reed on Dover
“Dover has not been the best track for me – you either get it or you don’t. This is one of the most demanding race tracks, mentally and physically. While I haven’t always had the finishes I had hoped for in the past, I always have enjoyed racing there because it’s such a challenge. We finished well the last time we were there, but were still searching for more speed throughout the race. Hopefully we can find some this weekend and bring home a top-10 finish for Lilly Diabetes and the American Diabetes Association.”
Tune-in
Reed and the rest of the NASCAR XFINITY Series will take the green flag from Dover International Speedway on Saturday, October 3rd at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network and MRN.
