This one is for Popa. The only reason that I came out this weekend was for him – Brandon McFerran
After losing his grandpa earlier in the week, Brandon McFerran was able to capitalize when Andy Kamrath ran into mechanical problems with a couple laps to go, capturing an emotional victory in the Velocity 250 presented by McColl Racing Enterprises.
For the 2014 Sunset Speedway Graham Landscape Ltd Mini Stock Track Champion, it marks his first victory in the crown jewel event after scoring the victory earlier in the year in the Garry Reynolds Memorial in June.
Following qualifying on Saturday for the Velocity 250, the top 18 cars would be set for the field, with a pair of b-mains left to run before the A-Main to set the final 10 cars.
