On Friday night, some of the best Mini Stocks from across Ontario would do battle at Flamboro Speedway in hopes of qualifying for the pair of Frostoberfest features. The action would see Andy Kamrath be the top qualifier, while Clark Hartman went for a bit of a ride.
The first heat would get off to a dramatic start as coming off of turn two, Hartman would go three-wide with Jake Gilbert and Ryan Babin. Hartman would get a little sideways, perhaps making contact with Gilbert in the process. Gibert would then get down into the side of Babin, which sent Babin back up across them. Babin’s momentum would then carry Hartman straight up and over the backstretch wall into the catchfence.

Hartman would be uninjured in the crash, done for the event with heavy front end damage. Babin would suffer heavy front right front suspension damage, but was able to get it repaired and return to the track later in the show.
A truck that was parked on the other side of the fence would receive heavy front end damage. Also, a fan was hit by the car coming up on the catchfence, but it has been reported that the fan will be okay.
The event would go under a one hour, 20 minute delay to fix the damage to the fence. Speedway officials fixed the major posts that were damaged, while putting a jersey barrier in front of the hole that was left in the fence.
Once racing restarted, Chad Corcoran would pick up the win in the first heat ahead of Bobby Tolton, Tim Tolton, Miles Tyson, Jake Watson, Rob Hoskins, Gilbert, Gillian Hils and Mike Gilmour.
Andy Kamrath won the second heat ahead of Donovan Price, Cory Young, Rodney Rutherford, Samantha Shaw, Treyten Lapcevich, Russ Aicken, Nick Clarke and Hudson Nagy.
Brandon Crumbie won the third heat ahead of Fred Jordan, Chad Ditner, Blair Wickett, Scott Mast, Gary Slama, Terry Woodley, Dave Crumbie, Mark DiSilva, 38x and Doug Smith.
The fourth heat didn’t start off smoothly with Hoskins getting loose, causing him to slow up. Bobby Tolton would then make contact with him, causing Hoskins to spin, followed by Tolton and Corcoran also spinning; Gilbert and Rob Twitchett would also be involved.See a photo-by-photo sequence of the wreck by clicking here.
Once the race restarted, Miles Tyson would score the victory ahead of Bobby Tolton, Tim Tolton, Watson, Babin and Hils.
Kamrath went for the daily double with a win in the fifth heat ahead of Aicken, Young, Rutherford, Nagy, Lapcevich, Shaw, Schwartzenburg, Price and Clarke.
Blair Wickett won the final heat ahead of Crumbie, Mast, Slama, Jordan, Woodley, Ditner, DiSilva, the 38x and Smith.
With the field set, the drivers were set to return on Saturday for the b-main and twin 30-lap features. On Saturday, though, speedway officials would decide to not run the event due to the rain in the forecast and no hydro at the track. As a result, this event will be completed on October 24.
