Bank of America 500
Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord, N.C.
Brett Moffitt | No. 34 Dockside Logistics Ford
“I’m looking forward to getting back to another mile-and-a-half. We definitely haven’t been to too many of them lately in this last stretch of the season. I think we’ve really improved on our aero package on our mile-and-a-half cars and got some more downforce in them. So, hopefully that will be to our benefit and we can run a little bit better.”
JUST THE FACTS: Moffitt has two Sprint Cup career starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway … His best finish at the 1.5-mile oval is 31st … Dockside Logistics returns as primary sponsor of the No. 34 Ford for the event.
Cole Whitt | No. 35 Rinnai Ford
“I love Charlotte because it’s home. I get to sleep in my bed, I get to hang out with my dogs, eat breakfast at home and then go to the racetrack. It’s like racing in your backyard. And we want to run well in our backyard. It’s our home court. We have Rinnai Tankless Water Heaters back for another race, so we want to run well for them, too. I love Charlotte Motor Speedway because it’s home, but it’s also a great mile-and-a-half. It races well, the tires wear out. It’s a good track. ”
JUST THE FACTS: Whitt has five Sprint Cup career starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway … His best finish at the 1.5-mile oval is 27th (2014) … Rinnai returns to the No. 35 Ford as primary sponsor for NASCAR’s home race.
David Gilliland | No. 38 MDS Transport Ford
“A good day at Charlotte for us would be a top-25 finish. Charlotte’s a great racetrack, plus it’s home. A lot of the crew guys have their families come. And they’re the ones that make this team run, that get the cars to the racetrack week in and week out. So, it’s important for us to run well at home in front of our home crowd. But it’s everyone else’s home track, too, so everyone else is competing just as hard. But it’s a track I like. It’s a tough race and a long race. The track has got some character and it’s one that I enjoy racing on.”
JUST THE FACTS: Gilliland has 18 Sprint Cup starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway … His best finish at the intermediate track is 20th (2013) … MDS returns to the No. 38 team as primary sponsor for the Bank of America 500 …. Draft Kings will be on board as an associate partner.
