On Friday and Saturday, qualifying took place for the 23rd Annual Autumn Colours Classic with the heats for the Thunder Cars.
2013 Autumn Colors Classic Champion Randy Rusnell picked up the win in the first heat ahead of Ken McNicol, Joe Adams, Ken Grubb, Dan Archibald, Jaymee Adams, Luke Gignac, Bryan Penny and DJ Christie.
Peterborough regular Donny Beatty won the second heat ahead of Adam Misener, Rob Richards, Howie Crowe Jr., Todd Davenport, Kevin Gallant, Chris MacDonald and Jager McMaster.
The third heat would see Jade Franklin make it three-wide off of turn four, resulting in contact, causing both Franklin and Tom Podd to spin on the frontstretch. Tyler Liscum would then be spun on the last lap by Josh Maitland. 2015 Sunset Speedway Champion Cayden Lapcevich would pick up the win ahead of Shawn Arnott, Fedele DiBello, Coltin Everingham, Franklin, Brent Wheller and Tom Podd.
2015 Sauble Speedway Champion Ken Grubb won the fourth heat ahead of Gignac, Rusnell, Adams, McNicol, Archibald, Gignac, Christie and Penny.
Sunset Speedway front runner Matt Bentley won the fourth heat ahead of Davenport, Crowe, Gallant, Beatty, Misener, Richards and MacDonald.
The final heat got a little messy with Liscum going around on lap two virtue of contact from Franklin. Peterborough regular Fedele DiBello won the heat ahead of Everingham, Franklin, Podd, Lapcevich, Maitland, Wheller, Liscum and Arnott.
The Thunder Cars will return to the track on Sunday for their 50-lap feature.
