Mentor, OH – (November 10, 2015) 21-year old Ricky Bowers will be racing in the UNOH 400 at Myrtle Beach Speedway on November 14th. “I’m extremely excited to have the opportunity to compete in this race,” Bowers said. “I’ve heard all year how great of an event this is and look forward to going out there and racing for the win.” The 23rd Annual Myrtle Beach 400 is a two week event, with the UNOH 400 being held on the first weekend. Ricky Bowers will be trying to write his name in the history books in his Leicht Motorsports number 61 Super Truck.
Bowers is coming off of a stellar 2015 season in the Southeast Super Truck Series, winning the Rookie of the Year championship and finishing in the Top 5 in the overall points standings. This will be Ricky’s first time at the .538 mile speedway. The 100-lap feature race will also be the longest in Bowers career. “This will be a great race for Ricky as it requires a great deal of patience and consistency to save enough for the end and Ricky possesses the talent to do just that.” MPM Marketing, Tonya McCallister commented. “Leicht Motorsports has given me a great truck all season, and now I need to take care of it and be smart in order to finish well.” Bowers stated.
Ricky Bowers and Leicht Motorsports hope to keep the momentum they gained at the end of the SEST season. “Following Ricky capturing Rookie of the Year in the 2015 SEST Series and teammate Kevin Leicht grabbing the win in the last race of the season, we hope to continue the momentum into this weekend and get us a win.” Stated Eugene Leicht of Leicht Motorsports. Bowers followed that up with, “We are really hitting our stride as a team, and hope to continue the success at Myrtle Beach.” Bowers also went on to state, “I would like to thank all of the members of my team for making the 2015 successful. I’d like to thank my family for all of their support throughout the ups and downs of the season.” Bowers continued with, “Lastly, I would like to thank my sponsors, Cometic Gasket, Sikk Shades by Eddie Bauer Jr. and Tonya McCallister at MPM Marketing for giving me the resources and direction I need to further my career. “I can’t wait to get to Myrtle Beach!” Bowers stated.
