2016 Southeast Super Trucks Series champion, Lee Tissot, accepted his season awards at the season awards banquet on Saturday. Tissot, arrived in style at the Western North Carolina Agriculture Center, the venue for the banquet on Saturday evening, with his entire crew and many family members in a stretched Hummer limo.
The Limo caught the attention of everyone in the banquet hall with several making their way toward the door to see what big star was arriving. The entire Tissot gang poured out of the Limo with huge smiles, obviously happy about their ride, but equally happy to be celebrating the fantastic season Tissot had in 2015. He was definitely a star, scoring five wins and 12 top-fours in 12 races. Additionally, he also scored the win in the post season special event at Concord.
Tissot is looking to repeat his success in 2016. The team is currently building a new supertruck in an effort to win back-to-back titles. One might think that after such a dominating season, he would race the same truck again. The problem is that all of the other teams have been working hard to improve, and if any team is not constantly trying to get better, it will get behind. Being a seasoned veteran, Tissot understands this and is on an endless mission to improve his race team.
In addition to building a new truck, Tissot has also signed with Turn 4 Promotions to provide PR and marketing work in 2016. Hopefully, the team will be able to secure new sponsorship so it can have the resources it needs to secure a second straight championship.
The first points race for the Southeast Super Trucks Series will take place on March 26 at Tri-County Motor Speedway in Hudson, NC.
