After only being single-car runs in the first session on the day, the second session saw groups of teammates go out on the track for some laps.
Denny Hamlin would top the chart, leading his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate and affiliates to a top-five position sweep with a speed of 199.658 mph. KyleBusch was second, followed by Martin Truex Jr., Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth. Of those five drivers, only Truex does not drive for JGR – driving for Funiture Row Motorsports, who has a technical alliance with JGR.
Ryan Blaney led the next group of cars – four Fords – followed by Joey Logano, Trevor Bayne and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Jamie McMurray would round out the top-10 with his Chevrolet.
The Sprint Cup Series gets one more practice before Sunday’s Daytona 500.
