In the sixth practice ahead of Sunday’s Daytona 500, only 13 cars would make laps throughout the practice, all sticking to single-car runs by themselves.
Jimmie Johnson would top the session with a speed of 194.083 mph in his back-up car. The driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet was one of the drivers involved in a last lap crash during the second Cam-Am Duel event last night.

Denny Hamlin was second quickest, 0.053 seconds off of Johnson, followed by Chase Elliott, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kasey Kahne. Trevor Bayne was sixth quickest, followed by Chris Buescher, Michael Annett, Casey Mears and Clint Bowyer.
The Sprint Cup Series teams have one more practice on Friday at 2pm EST, followed by a final practice on Saturday morning ahead of Sunday’s Daytona 500.
