NSCS: Carl Edwards Leads Saturday Morning Practice for Kobalt 400

In the Saturday morning practice ahead of Sunday’s Kobalt 400, it’d be Carl Edwards topping the charts with a lap of 28.189 seconds.

Edwards is set to start the third race of the season in the 24th spot after scoring a fifth place finish last weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Edwards is behind the wheel of a back-up car after wrecking during qualifying yesterday.

Austin Dillon was second quickest after finishing 11th last weekend, with Casey Mears third. Mears and Germain Racing have continued to steadily gain on it, posting a solid 14th place finish last weekend.

Kasey Kahne and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top-five, followed by Trevor Bayne, Ryan Newman, Chase Elliott, AJ Allmendinger and Kurt Busch.
