As part of the Inside Track Short Track Night of Champions presented by Stoneridge Insurance, the Flamboro Speedway Champions were honored for their accomplishments.
Notably, all three champions in attendance for the night are part of the London Recreational Racing stable.
Shawn Chenoweth and Brad Collison were honored as the co-Thunder Car Champions.
“I just want to thank Shawn, Bob and Mike (Schmidt) for the opportunity to run this car because it was an awesome car all year,” Collison commented. “It was flawless, perfect.
The pair split the schedule as Chenoweth was focused on racing in the APC Auto Parts United Late Models of Ontario Tour presented by Grisdales and the OSCAAR Super Late Models.
The car was a rocket from day one,” Chenoweth stated. “It was great to put Brad in it as I couldn’t run the full year, and the way the track sets it up, two guys can do that and be successful. Brad was a good choice. I knew that he could win a bunch of features. Can’t thank all the guys that help us out – sponsors, everybody, Mike.”
For 2016, Collison will be back on a full-time basis, running his own car, while Chenoweth will be focusing on the APC tour and the full Late Model schedule at Flamboro Speedway. When asked whether he’d be part of the championship discussion in late models, Chenoweth stated that he knows they will be.
Russ Aicken was honored as the Mini Stock Champion for the second straight year in a row.
“It was a tough year,” he admitted. “There are a lot of young, great guys racing in that series right now. It was tough.”
