As part of the Inside Track Short Track Night of Champions presented by Stoneridge Insurance, the Ohsweken Speedway Champions were honored for their accomplishments.
Dylan Westbrook was honored as the Crate Sprint Car Champion.
“Last season we had an amazing year,” he commented. “I think we had five wins and a bunch of top-10s. Everybody that helps out – thank you very much.”
Dave Bailey was honored as the Thunder Car Champion and spoke with host Greg Calnan about the importance of running the outside groove.
“That place was awesome and it was fun to run up there,” he expressed. “Everybody is scared to run there so you got to run where they ain’t.”
Dusty DeBoer was honored as the Bomber Champion and expressed interest in moving up to the Sprint Car ranks. However, it right now isn’t possible as he doesn’t really “have a budget so somebody has to fund me a car”.
Ashton Vanevery was honored as the Beginner Micro-Sprint Champion, stating that it was a fun season.
William Kerr was honored as the Junior Micro-Sprint Champion.
Scott Hall was honored as the Senior Micro-Sprint Champion, thanking his parents and sponsors for everything.
Hannah Ferrell was honored as the Open Micro-Sprint Champion, stating that she is planning to run the full Crate Sprint Car schedule in 2016, as well as a bunch of micro-sprint races.
As to her mom’s thoughts on the plans for the year, she stated, “I think she’s a little scared, but she’s going to have to live with it.”
