After a crazy season last year with highs and lows at every end, S&S Racing has their sights set on a new season.
As previously announced, Brad Stevenson will be behind the wheel of No. 77 Eibach/Kingsmen Kustoms Modified owned by Deborah and Brian Strawn, running the full Ontario Modified Racing Series (OMRS) schedule in search of the championship. Stevenson will also run some of the OSCAAR events that do not conflict.
“Glad to have all our sponsors back once again to make this all possible,” team co-owner Brian Strawn stated. “Can’t wait to start the new season.”
Last season saw some highs in where the team showed speed, and scored solid finishes in both (OMRS and OSCAAR competition. Though, there were also some disappointing weeks with crashes taking the team out of the running on multiple occasions. Despite the bad luck, the year ended solidly as Chad Strawn and Brad Stevenson finished third in the OMRS standings.
The team spent the off-season going over the car to make extensive repairs in hopes of lots of success in 2016. The car was stripped down, followed by Jr. Hanley fixing both the front and rear clips. The chassis then went to Niagara for powder coating, followed by the team installing a complete new interior and exterior body. As stated by Brian Strawn, the “car is completely new from one end to the other”.
The team then topped all their hardwork off with a brand new look, designed by Mark Van Luven at AVL Designs.
The 2016 season will kick off with the Ontario Modified Racing Series season opener at Sunset Speedway, as part of the track’s Spring Velocity weekend on Saturday May 21.
