ST: Robbie Allison Signs with Allen’s Racing Experience for 2016 Season

Robbie Allison, son of former NASCAR star Davey Allison, and grandson of NASCAR legend Bobby Allison, will pilot the No. 12 Limited Late Model for Allen’s Racing Experience (ARE) for the 2016 season.

Allison will compete for Rookie-of-the-Year and track championship honors at Anderson Motor Speedway, a great .375 mile short track with a rich year history located in upstate South Carolina. The 2016 season will be the 53^rd season for the venue.

Allison has already proven his driving prowess. Over the past three years, Allison has raced on many tracks, in many different types of cars, breaking track records, capturing wins and earning four Rookie of the Year honors. This is a feat especially impressive with Allison only running limited schedules.

Robbie is working closely with second generation car owner, Lorin Ranier, who has been a close friend of the Allison family for over forty years. Bobby Allison drove for Lorin’s father, Harry Ranier, in the then, Winston Cup Series. It was Lorin and his father, Harry, that gave up and coming driver, Davey, his first full time ride in NASCAR’s top class. Davey went on to win the 1987 Rookie of the Year Honors with the Ranier’s in the famed #28 Texaco Havoline Ford, and celebrated two victories, the first rookie to ever do so in their rookie season at NASCAR’s top level.

In addition to the full schedule at Anderson Speedway, Allison will also compete in selected Southeast Super Truck Series races throughout the season.

Allison will make his debut behind the wheel of the ARE No. 12 on April 1.
