Concord, NC (March 29, 2016) – Announced today, Landon Huffman becomes the latest driver to join Venturini Motorsports (VMS) for the upcoming 2016 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards campaign.
Landon Huffman, a third generation driver out of Claremont, North Carolina, will make his ARCA Series debut with VMS at Berlin Raceway on August 6th. Huffman, who’s scheduled to drive the team’s No.15 Toyota entry will be added to VMS’s driver roster with plans for increased team involvement for the 2017 ARCA Racing season.
“We’re definitely excited to have Landon join the team and onboard for Berlin. He’s an extremely talented and driven individual,” said Billy Venturini. “I believe if he’s given the right opportunity and chance to prove himself at this level he’ll have a long career.”
The 20-year old Huffman, a full-time student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, possess a strong racing pedigree. Landon, son of former NASCAR driver, Robert Huffman, has been honing his craft at Hickory Motor Speedway becoming a standout driver competing in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Premier Division.
“Making my ARCA debut with Venturini Motorsports is a huge milestone in my career. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity. Venturini Motorsports is a high caliber organization with outstanding talent and equipment. Billy has surrounded me with everything I need to succeed,” said Huffman.
“My racing experience to date has been short track dominant. Hickory is an abrasive 1/3 mile track with two racing grooves. It compares to Berlin in some aspects, but differs in others. Berlin is flat, and a bit larger, but naturally short track racing is short track racing. I have confidence that I will be able to adapt rather quickly.”
“As of now, the Berlin race is our only planned ARCA event for 2016. We are working hard to put together relationships to further my involvement with Venturini Motorsports in 2017. For the remainder of 2016, I am competing in my NASCAR late model stock across the Southeast at Greenville Pickens, Motor Mile, Hickory, South Boston, and a few others. I am also spotting for Austin Theriault in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.”
