IndyCar and Coca-Cola announced today that in honor of the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil, Coca-Cola will be selling limited-edition six packs of coke bottles with the Indianapolis 500 logo on them. They will only be sold in Central Indiana.
“I know our fans can’t wait to get their hands on these commemorative Coca-Cola bottles celebrating the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500,” said IMS President Doug Boles.
Third generation IndyCar driver Matthew Barbham escorted the truck carrying the bottles as they arrived at the track and on to the famed yard of bricks for the announcement.
Coca-Cola is a longtime partner and supporter of the track and they annually offer a variety of programs to help engage and excite fans, including consumer package promotions, VIP experiences and product sampling.
“We congratulate the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on this historic occasion and join with them to celebrate this historic moment in time,” said Jane Grout, general manager of the Indiana/Ohio marketing unit, Coca-Cola refreshments. “Race fans can pick up their limited edition six-packs and pay tribute to the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 with an ice-cold Coca-Cola in hand.”
