L.P. Dumoulin will have a new crew chief atop of the pit box with a bunch of experience. The past series champion will have Bill Burns calling the shots on the No. 47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada/ Groupe Bellemare for Dumoulin Competition.
Burns has over 20 years of experience, having worked with veterans Don Thomson Jr., Cole Pearn and most recently Andrew Ranger. Over the past two seasons, the veteran has led Ranger to three wins, 11 top-fives and 16 top-10s, with a third place finish in points last year.
“Bill Burns has won multiple championships and races,” Dumoulin stated. “When the opportunity to recruit him presented itself, it was a no-brainer. We’re very happy to have him with us, it’s a real plus-value for me and for Dumoulin Competition.”
The year brings additional change, as the team will be preparing their own cars. Since the beginning in 2009, the team has worked in collaboration with 22 Racing and Scott Steckly, using his organization to supply cars. However, beginning this year, the team will be building their own equipment.
Dumoulin hopes to build on his previous success of four victories, 24 top-5s, and 38 top-10s in 59 total starts.
