The Sprint Cup Series took to the track Thursday evening for opening Sprint Cup Series practice for Saturday night’s Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Martin Truex Jr. led the way with a lap of 27.995 seconds (192.892 MPH) followed by Team Penske teammates Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano. Austin Dillon and Brian Vickers rounded out the top five. Jimmie Johnson, AJ Allmendinger, Greg Biffle, Kyle Larson, and Ryan Blaney rounded out the top ten.
Other notables include: Matt Kenseth 11th, Chase Elliott 13th, Denny Hamlin 18th, Carl Edwards 21st, Kevin Harvick 24th, Kurt Busch 25th, Dale Earnhardt Jr. 26th, and last week’s winner at Martinsville, Kyle Busch was 28th.
The Cup Series will return to the track tomorrow for qualifying at 2:45 P.M. ET and final practice at 6:30 P.M. ET. Both sessions can be seen on FOX Sports 1.
