It was a familiar scene at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday Evening, as Kyle Busch claimed the pole for tonight’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 300.
Busch claimed the pole with a speed of (28.651 Seconds, 188.475 MPH). Busch’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Erik Jones and Daniel Suarez made it a clean sweep of qualifying for the Gibbs organization. Kyle Larson and Brennan Pool round out the top-five starters for tonight’s race.
Ty Dillon, Austin Dillon, Brad Keselowski, Brandon Jones, and Ryan Reed comprise the remainder of the top-ten in tonight’s starting grid.
Some other notable starters include: Dale Earnhardt Jr. 11th, Elliott Sadler 15th, Chase Elliott 16th, Aric Almirola 18th, Darrell Wallace Jr. 19th, and Justin Allgaier will start 23rd after getting a flat tire and the end of the first round of qualifying. Per NASCAR rules, you cannot change tires between rounds, even with a flat, so Allgaier was unable to make a lap in the second round to improve his starting position.
