Since posting a top-10 finish in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway, Blake Koch has yet to post another one. That could change on Saturday as he was quickest in the final practice ahead of the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Koch posted a lap of 15.616 seconds near the end of the session.
Kyle Busch, who is searching for his fifth victory in six starts this season, was second quickest. Busch knows what it takes to win at Bristol, having scored eight wins previously. Austin Dillon was third quickest, continuing the trend of Richard Childress Racing cars being quick this weekend after seeing all four of their cars and affiliates in the top-10 during the first session with Dillon quickest. Jeb Burton was fourth quickest as he looks to rebound from a crash last weekend. Erik Jones rounded out the top-five as he look for his fifth top-five in seven races.
Kyle Larson was sixth quickest, followed by Ty Dillon, Daniel Suarez, Elliott Sadler and Joey Logano.
The session saw a brief red flag after Ray Black Jr. got sideways off of the corner.
The next time the XFINITY cars will be on track is on Saturday morning for qualifying ahead of the heat races.
